Composite Pedestrian Bridge
Ryihad - KSA
A new mass rapid transportation system placed in the centre line of the main access roads of Riyhad has requested the necessity of more pedestrian bridges to link the opposite sides of the roads. In this project it has been envisaged a modular composite bridge was designed to fit spans from a max of 62 to a min of 40 m. The bridge "sits" on two artificial rocky hills to smoothen the transitions from the pedestrian walk ways to the elevated level of the bridge. The brige is designed with an eye to the boats with a larger mid span section. The shall was engineered to be in Glass and Carbon fibre and the canopy made by a fabric/mebrane to shade the people using the bridge.
